Popis knihy:

John Bunyan's A Few Sighs from Hell, or The Groans of a Damned Soul (1658) explicates Luke 16, the story of the rich man and the beggar. The rich man neglected his salvation, never sought solace in Scripture, and disobeyed the gospel. Now crying for a drop of water, he wants to send the beggar to warn his relatives of the life after death. Attacking professional clergy and the rich who promote carnality, Bunyan describes hell and warns sinners to mend their ways.  John Bunyan, author of the great Christian allegory Pilgrim's Progress, was born into a tinker family. As a youth, he was tormented by fits of depression, dreams of fiends trying to fly away with him, and voices telling him to ""sell Christ."" He joined and preached to a Baptist society in Bedford, for which he was arrested and jailed for nearly 12 years. While in prison he wrote Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners and began his allegorical masterpiece.
